Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) Testing Goes Electronic
2008 test slated for expansion; 685 payments professionals accredited in 2007

Herndon, Virginia, February 7, 2008 - NACHA—The Electronic Payments Association and the Regional Payments Associations are pleased to announce that beginning in 2008, the Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) program exam will be offered electronically at more than 500 LaserGrade computer-based testing centers nationwide.

With the new system, applicants can now select a test date within a three-week window in October, and choose from testing sites across the country. Unofficial results will be available immediately upon completing the exam.

“Implementing an all-electronic AAP exam is consistent with NACHA’s commitment to unnecessary impacts on the environment. Moreover, the system gives AAP applicants more options, is more convenient to use, and greatly reduces paper consumption,” said Leonard Heckwolf, chairman of NACHA’s Environmental Impact Steering Committee, and Bank of America investment and initiative management executive.

There are also considerable environmental benefits to offering the exam electronically. Doing so will save more than 20,000 sheets of paper, and will also help the environment in terms of reduction in fuel consumed in shipping tests and transporting applicants, testers, and reviewers to and from the testing and review sites.

NACHA accredited or reaccredited 685 payments industry professionals in 2007 under the Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) program.

“The growth of NACHA’s Accredited ACH program reflects the growing importance of ACH payments to financial institutions and their customers,” said Elliott C. McEntee, president and chief executive officer of NACHA. “AAPs provide the expertise that financial institutions and businesses need to plan their payments strategies and manage their payments services and products.”

The AAP designation recognizes industry professionals for their understanding and knowledge of the ACH Network and the payments industry. The 2007 AAP recipients will be honored at an AAP breakfast at NACHA’s annual conference, PAYMENTS 2008, on Monday, May 19, 2008 in Las Vegas. Conference information is available at www.nacha.org/conferences/Payments2008/default.htm. To learn more about the AAP program, go to www.nacha.org/aap or contact NACHA at 703-561-1100.
