The Global Payments Forum, in conjunction with NACHA, EACHA & VocaLink, will offer the most comprehensive, in-depth, and timely information on the issues, trends, developments, challenges, and opportunities confronting payment system stakeholders. The Global Payments Strategies Conference will feature expert speakers representing organizations on the leading-edge of progress and critical thinking who will deliver the most advanced, strategic, and up-to-date information about advancements in global payments. The conference has previously drawn senior-level payments professionals from more than 50 countries.

HOW TO SUBMIT SESSION PROPOSALS

Please submit proposals via email to globalconferences@nacha.org. Please be sure to include all required information as requested on the online form, and enter “GLOBAL 2009 PROPOSAL” in the subject line.

LEVEL OF PRESENTATIONS

The level of presentations for the 2009 Global Payments Strategies Conference should be advanced. Sessions require a working knowledge and considerable experience in the topic area by attendees and may further require basic or working knowledge in one or more related areas outside the specific topic. Examples and calculations may be fairly complex and only new technical terminology should be specifically defined. These proposals should be strategic in scope and focus on emerging trends or products.

REVIEW PROCEDURES

Proposals submitted for The 2009 Global Payments Strategies Conference are reviewed by the Conference Planning Committee, which is comprised of payments professionals from across the industry, selected for their experience, areas of expertise, and organizational perspectives. The Conference Planning Committee members review and critique session proposals according to specific criteria, including:

• Relevance to the Global payments industry;
• Overall perceived quality of session content;
• Timeliness of topic;
• A well-defined focus;
• Completeness of presentation proposal;
• Appropriate inclusion of customer/end user or unbiased, industry expert co-presenter;
• Speaking experience of presenters;
• Uniqueness of approach to the topic or of presenter perspective.

TOPICS TO BE ADDRESSED IN 2009

The Conference Planning Committee has identified several key topics for inclusion in the 2009 program, including but not limited to:

  • Regional initiatives and advancements in global payments
  • Compared and contrasted payments systems in India & The UAE
  • Global risk management and regulatory issues
  • Fraud and the changing global environment
  • Technologies, emerging products, and advancements globally
  • The results of SEPA implementation
  • Cover payments and the changes to correspondent banking landscape
  • Examining fraud in new payment channels
  • Social & business responsibilities pertaining to environmental efforts

DEADLINE

Proposals MUST be received at the NACHA office by the close of business on 30 June, 2008.

REVIEW PERIOD

Proposals will be reviewed by the PAYMENTS 2009 Conference Planning Committee in late July 2008.

NOTIFICATION TO PRESENTERS

Submitters will be notified by 1 September, 2008 about the status of their proposals.  NACHA reserves the right to grant or refuse, at its sole discretion, speaking opportunities to any submitter. Compliance with NACHA’s Code of Conduct, available online at http://www.nacha.org/code_of_conduct.htm, is a condition of presenting at The 2009 Global Payments Strategies Conference.
