ACH Volume Grows 10 Percent in 3rd Quarter 2002
The Automated Clearing House Network grew by 10 percent in the 3nd Quarter of 2002 compared to a year ago, according to NACHA statistics. More than 1.675 billion transactions were conducted during the quarter, worth more than $4.5 trillion. These figures represent growth rates of 10.0% and11.6%, respectively, over the same quarter of 2001. Third quarter debits were 717.5 million, and credits were 958.5 million, for a total of 1.676 billion. The statistics include commercial inter-bank and government transactions, but not “On-Us” transactions.
