ACH Volume Grows 11 Percent in 4th Quarter 2002
The Automated Clearing House Network grew by 11 percent in the 4th Quarter of 2002 compared to a year ago, according to NACHA statistics. More than 1.76 billion transactions were conducted during the quarter, worth more than $4.95 trillion. These figures represent growth rates of 11.0% and 14.1%, respectively, over the same quarter of 2001. Fourth quarter debits were 753.5 million, and credits were 1.011 billion, for a total of 1.764 billion. The statistics include commercial inter-bank and government transactions, but not “On-Us” transactions.
