ACH Volume Grows 11 Percent in 1st Quarter 2003
The Automated Clearing House Network grew by 11 percent in the 1st Quarter of 2003 compared to a year ago, according to NACHA statistics. More than 1.77 billion transactions were conducted during the quarter, worth more than $4.9 trillion. These figures represent growth rates of 11.0% and 12.1%, respectively, over the same quarter of 2002. Fourth quarter debits were 783.5 million, and credits were 987.7 million, for a total of 1.771 billion. The statistics include commercial inter-bank and government transactions, but not “On-Us” transactions.
