ACH Volume Grows 13 Percent in 3rd Quarter 2003
The Automated Clearing House Network grew by more than 13 percent in the 3rd Quarter of 2003 compared to a year ago, according to NACHA statistics. More than 1.89 billion transactions were conducted during the quarter, worth almost $5.4 trillion. These figures represent growth rates of 13.4% and 18.7%, respectively, over the same quarter of 2002. There were 874 million debits and 1.025 billion credits in the 3rd Quarter, for a total of 1.899 billion. The statistics include commercial inter-bank and government transactions, but not “On-Us” transactions.
