NACHA Estimates One Billion E-Check Payments in 2003
6th Annual Electronic Check Conference to Be Held September 17-18, 2003 in New Orleans
Herndon, Virginia, July 7, 2003 – NACHA - The Electronic Payments Association projects that the number of e-check payments is likely to
reach or exceed one billion in 2003, which would double the number of e-checks payments in 2002.
NACHA will hold Electronic Check 2003, its 6th annual electronic check conference, in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 17-18, 2003, to provide
companies and financial institutions with the latest information to support the rapid adoption of e-checks in the marketplace. Electronic Check 2003 is the payments industry's premier annual event focusing
exclusively on the issues, challenges and successes of using e-checks.
James Pittman, Senior Director of Treasury and Remittance Operations for BellSouth Corporation, will deliver a keynote address on the corporate
perspective of moving from checks to electronic collection of receivables. The conference program includes speakers from Bank One, Capital One, Hibernia National Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Mellon, Price Chopper,
Sears, the United States Army, Washington Mutual, and Wells Fargo.
The Accounts Receivable Conversion (ARC) e-check application, the payments industry's hottest topic, will be a major focus of this year's
conference. Five case studies will be presented, giving a picture of how companies and financial institutions of various types and sizes are using the ARC e-check product. Other case studies will be
presented on the Internet, telephone, and point-of-purchase e-check applications.
