NACHA is a nonprofit organization that convenes hundreds of diverse organizations to enhance and enable electronic payments and financial data exchange within the U.S. and across geographies. Through development of rules, standards, governance, education, advocacy, and in support of innovation, NACHA’s efforts benefit the providers and users of those systems. NACHA leads groups focused on API standardization, authors the Quest Operating Rules for EBT, and is the steward of the ACH Network, a payment system that universally connects all U.S. bank accounts and facilitates the movement of money and information. In 2017, there was a total of nearly 26 billion ACH transactions. Of these, 21.5 billion ACH payments valued at $47 trillion moved across the ACH Network, and more than 4 billion were on-us transactions within financial institutions.

Job Summary
The Assistant Director, Design & Digital Engagement supports NACHA’s overall communications and marketing efforts through the design of collateral, management and coordination of design activities, and administration of NACHA’s digital/social engagement efforts.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

  • Develops the creative design and execution of visual communications for various mediums (social media, web, print, email) that convey and represent NACHA’s communications and marketing objectives
  • Creates and utilizes original graphics, icons, logos and style guides/visual standards in line with current graphic and branding guidelines
  • Coordinates with content providers, partners, and other outside vendors as needed for design
  • Oversees and coordinates all print, mail house, and trade show giveaway needs for Communications & Marketing Team
  • Manages the cataloguing of all design/collateral materials
  • Collaborates with appropriate internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute social media strategy, leveraging social media as integral component of overall communications and marketing strategy
  • Manages NACHA’s social media channels through development of regular content and graphics, and monitoring and reporting
  • Manages social calendar, working with the Communications & Marketing Team to ensure efforts and timing of social and other communications and marketing activities are scheduled appropriately
  • Evaluates outcomes of social media efforts and recommends adjustments and new techniques to achieve goals

Required Background / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven and demonstrable graphic design experience, with a strong portfolio
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Ability to communicate and present highly complex ideas visually, succinctly and in a compelling manner
  • Proficiency in all design aspects and design/video software/technologies (InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc.)
  • Proven experience with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and other social platforms
  • Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines
  • Highly collaborative team member with strong interpersonal skills 
  • Possession of sound judgment, and works well under pressure 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to embrace and apply the association’s core values
  • Possession of basic web design skills and knowledge of HTML and CSS 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two or more years of direct design and social media management experience, preferably in a nonprofit/association, marketing agency/consultancy or financial services setting 
  • Bachelor’s degree 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Content administration experience using Drupal 8 CMS 
  • Knowledge of HubSpot 
  • Knowledge of Abila netFORUM

As part of the Communications and Marketing group, the Assistant Director, Design & Digital Engagement must possess strong customer service skills, have a wide variety of knowledge and skill sets, and be able to troubleshoot a wide variety of issues. Beyond subject matter and functional mastery, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum two years’ overall experience
