Diverse Stakeholders Key to Smarter Faster Payments 2023 Continuing as Industry’s “Premier” Event
A first-rate conference like Smarter Faster Payments 2023 requires a lot of preparation, and Conference Planning Committee (CPC) is crucial to that effort. During a recent multi-day meeting at Nacha headquarters, the CPC provided feedback and decided on the sessions at the core of Smarter Faster Payments 2023.
Nell Campbell-Drake, Vice President of Industry Relations for Federal Reserve Financial Services and a member of the CPC, and Stephanie Prebish, Managing Director of Association Services at Nacha, sat down with Nacha’s Payments Smartcast podcast to talk about the conference, the topics the sessions will address, and the benefits of attending.
As Campbell-Drake described, the CPC is “a diverse group of members representing the payments sphere.” The members come from banks, credit unions, Payments Associations, fintechs, government agencies and end-user corporations. They provide their feedback and expertise to choose more than 100 sessions for Smarter Faster Payments 2023.
Smarter Faster Payments 2023 will be “strengthened by the dedication and help” of the CPC, said Prebish.
The committee again decided to feature a wide array of topics for the conference next year, including the ACH Network, card networks, cross-border payments, cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, instant payments and regulatory issues.
Attendees at Smarter Faster Payments 2023 will be able to participate in sessions on an “array of topics to accommodate all of the things that are taking place in the ever-changing payments landscape,” Campbell-Drake stated.
In addition to the sessions, the numerous social events at Smarter Faster Payments allow attendees a unique opportunity to network with thousands of their peers to, as Campbell-Drake described, “establish strategic relationships.”
Dozens of financial technology companies will join Payments 2023 in the interactive exhibit hall. The exhibitors will showcase solutions and technology for the payments industry, including payments processing, fraud prevention and risk mitigation as well as financial services technology. Every year, new and trending solutions will be demonstrated by both companies debuting at the conference as well as many companies who have participated at Payments for many years.
Attendees can also earn continuing education credits; AAPs and AARPs will be able to earn 20 credits, the maximum available for a given year. Lawyers attending can earn continuing legal education credits, and attendees can also earn CTP/CCM recertification credits.
Smarter Faster Payments offers a “cost-effective and time-effective” opportunity to earn those credits, Prebish stressed.
Although the CPC has already reviewed more than 150 session proposals, the payments industry is ever evolving. Nacha has issued a second call for presentations to ensure the sessions are “cutting edge,” said Prebish.
And for those who may not be able to make it in person, Nacha will again be offering Remote Connect, which will take place May 8-10, 2023. This online event will blend sessions and speakers from the in-person conference and several unique sessions only available to Remote Connect participants.
“It is a great option for those who cannot get away from the office that long,” said Prebish.
For those interested in attending, it is critical to register for Smarter Faster Payments as soon as possible. The deadline for Early Bird registration is December 29.
Mark your calendar and register now. As Campbell-Drake stated, Smarter Faster Payments is “the premier payment’s industry annual conference.”
