Job Summary

The position of Systems Engineer is considered a part of Nacha’s Administrative Services division and reports to the Senior Director, Systems Technology. The organizational objectives for this position are to maintain a secure and functional computer network environment and provide technical support to the staff. As a member of the IT department, this person will monitor all facets of Nacha’s computer network and telecommunications system and troubleshoot all issues that impact data transmission and connectivity both with internal and external systems. This is a full-time, exempt position.

  • Manage all systems supported by the Infrastructure by performing server builds, patch management, virtual machine management, virus scanning, Virtual Server Platforms, Active directory Services/Azure AD Services, etc. 
  • Develop, maintain and implement data backup systems, power backup systems and disaster recovery procedures, and perform file restorations.
  • Establish and maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security
  • Manage hosted resources and environments including but not limited to Rackspace, Azure, AWS, Pantheon
  • Administrate the email server, and research and troubleshoot email delivery problems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot remote access issues and connectivity issues between remote access users and the NACHA computer network, and administrate the VPN.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot telecommunication related problems
  • Work with Web Development to manage NACHA’s public and private IP schema, make changes to the public DNS records, as well as router and firewall appliances, and manage domain name purchases and renewals
  • Work with Helpdesk on configure, issue, and inventory NACHA hardware and software. Assist in the development and maintenance of the HelpDesk platform
  • Act as an escalation point on critical issues for various internal technology groups
  • Respond to critical system issues on a 24x7x365 basis
  • Create and maintain metrics to measure response time and availability for systems
  • Keep management up to date about any issues and escalating in a timely manner
  • Administer company security procedures and monitor compliance
  • Implement project activities as requested. Have knowledge of IT project management standards and contribute, to varying degrees, in the creation of project plans and the analysis and monitoring of project risks
  • Analyze and document business and IT process workflow, and make recommendations where improvements can be made to the overall system and network environments
  • Establish and manage relationships with consultants and vendors of information technology
  • Pursue expansion of knowledge of and skills in current and emerging information technology
Required Qualifications
  • At least 3-5 years of experience designing, supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering enterprise environment
  • Experience with Cloud Computing
  • Experience with supporting Linux
  • Experience managing a Windows environment, including but not limited to, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Active Directory/Azure Active Directory, Exchange 2016, IIS, SQL Server, MS Office 365 and SCCM
  • Proficiency in Windows networking services such as DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Experience with Citrix, Citrix Provisioning Services
  • Experience with VMware ESX server
  • Experience with enterprise level backup/recovery tools
  • Strong knowledge of storage concepts, including, SAN and NAS
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and complex configurations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate in high pressure environment and successfully handle multiple priorities
Desired Additional Skills
  • Knowledge of High Availability, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery concepts 
  • Knowledge of Scripting 
  • Project Management skills

As part of the Administrative Services group, the Systems Technology Department provides support to every department at NACHA and external customers. In addition to strong customer service skills, the successful candidate will have a wide variety of knowledge and skill sets, and be able to troubleshoot a wide variety of issues. Beyond subject matter and functional mastery, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • No direct reports. 
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related degree. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ overall experience 
  • Demonstrated skills administrating computer networks. MTA/MCSA/MCSE certifications preferred.
