NACHA – The Electronic Payments Association recognizes outstanding accomplishments and superior leadership, innovation, and excellence in electronic payments with its annual Payments System Awards. These prestigious awards strive to commend the highest degree of achievement in developing, implementing, and advancing electronic payments, instilling quality, integrity, and reliability in ACH services, and promoting the positive environmental impact of choosing electronic payments, statements, and billing.

The NACHA Payments System Awards have highlighted many outstanding examples of how individuals and organizations use innovation and leadership to advance electronic payments.

Award recipients are selected by industry representatives from NACHA’s Communications and Marketing Advisory Group (CMAG) through a robust and disciplined review process.

NACHA invites you to nominate an individual or organization for this year’s awards:

  • 2012 George Mitchell Payments System Excellence Award
  • 2012 Kevin O’Brien ACH Quality Award
  • 2012 NACHA PayItGreen® Award

Award Summaries

The George Mitchell Payments System Excellence Award
The George Mitchell Award, adopting the namesake of the former vice-chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and early proponent of electronic payments, honors an individual or organization that has shown superior leadership in developing, implementing, or advancing electronic payments. 

The Kevin O’Brien ACH Quality Award
The Kevin O’Brien ACH Quality Award, adopting the namesake of NACHA’s 1999-2000 chairperson, recognizes best practices in ACH participants’ efforts to maintain or improve the quality of ACH services and/or the integrity and reliability of the ACH Network.

The NACHA PayItGreen Award
The NACHA PayItGreen Award honors individual or organizational leadership, vision, and innovation in the education and promotion of electronic payments, statements, and billing to reduce environmental impact. The recipient successfully demonstrates, through outreach initiatives, that the ACH Network provides simple, safe, smart, and green solutions.

Award Notification, Recognition, and General Criteria

Award Notification & Recognition
NACHA will recognize award recipients at its Payments System Awards Luncheon, sponsored by TD Bank, during its 2012 PAYMENTS Conference, April 29 – May 2, 2012, at the Baltimore Convention Center. News and photos of award recipients may also appear in NACHA communications, including, but not limited to, press releases and websites.

Award Nomination Criteria
Nomination for the 2012 Payments System Awards is a privilege, which affords individuals and organizations high visibility in the industry. Nominees must adhere to NACHA’s Code of Conduct (www.nacha.org/cdofcond) and conduct their activities with the highest levels of integrity and professionalism. NACHA, Regional Payments Associations, and/or their employees are not eligible for any awards.

Release and Usage

Nominators understand and agree that their submissions will become the property of NACHA—The Electronic Payments Association. NACHA and the Regional Payments Association may use the material and/or photos from the awards ceremony for editorial, analytical, promotional, educational, or other purposes.
