Nominees for the Federal Reserve Board cleared a procedural hurdle in the United States Senate, and they are expected to be confirmed today, Thursday, June 12. The Senate voted to invoke cloture on former Treasury undersecretary Lael Brainard’s nomination to be a Fed governor (59-35); Fed Governor Jerome Powell’s nomination for an additional term (58-36); and Stanley Fischer’s nomination to be the Fed’s vice chair (56-38). Upon confirmation, two vacancies will be left on the Federal Reserve Board.
