Herndon, Va., March 9, 2015 - NACHA—The Electronic Payments Association® President and CEO Janet O. Estep will serve as one of the keynotes for Retail Banking 2015, which takes place today through March 11 in Austin, Texas. Estep’s opening keynote, “Moving Payments Faster with Same Day ACH,” will take place today, March 9, at 3:30 p.m. CST at the Hyatt Regency Austin. In her address, Estep will explore Same Day ACH as a building block for innovation and an essential step to move money more quickly and efficiently, directly between bank accounts.
Estep also will participate in a “Faster Payments” panel discussion at 4 p.m. CST today. The panel will discuss the various industry and regulatory initiatives to bring the payments system into the 21st century, the challenges presented by modernization, and the reasons that faster payments matter to bank customers.
NACHA has proposed a phased approach to move the ACH Network from the current next-day settlement to three settlement opportunities each day. This enhanced functionality will provide value to end-users, including greater certainty for faster funds availability. For more information, visit www.nacha.org/same-day-ach.
