A credit card issuer is required to apply a customer’s bill payment on the day it is received, even when that payment is submitted close to the due date. Being able to align funds collection with required payment posting helps issuers improve liquidity, reduce exposure and support operational certainty.

To better synchronize payment posting and funds collection, the issuer enabled Same Day ACH debits for eligible credit card bill payments. When a customer submits a payment, the issuer can apply the payment and collect the underlying funds on the same business day.
