Assistant Director, Marketing (Remote First/DMV area)

Job Summary

Job Title:        Assistant Director, Marketing 

Department:   Communications, Marketing, Publications & Preferred Partner

Status:            Full-time/Exempt/Remote First – Reside in  DMV area

Reports to:     Senior Director, Marketing 

The Assistant Director, Marketing supports the marketing execution of accreditation (Accredited ACH Professional, Accredited Payments Risk Professional, Accredited Faster Payments Professional), smaller educational programs (e.g., Payments IQ, Risk Retreat, Payments Legal and Compliance Summit), and promotion of Preferred Partners and other sponsored content (e.g., webinars and podcasts). Under the guidance of the Senior Director, Marketing, this role develops and executes promotional campaigns (e.g., Hubspot emails, website content, paid/organic social, Adwords).

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute marketing plans for accreditation programs, smaller educational programs, and promotion of Preferred Partners and other sponsored content.
  • Manage email communications and work with Assistant Director, Marketing Communications to understand programs’ performance metrics to make adjustments, as appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining website content improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support program goals.
  • Track budget expenditures and process invoices.

Required Background / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Minimum of three years of experience in marketing.
  • Detail-oriented professional with strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in inbound marketing tools and website CMS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to embrace and apply the association’s core values.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Hubspot, Drupal.
  • Direct marketing experience to support revenue programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a nonprofit or financial services setting.
  • Understanding of design software (Adobe Creative Suite preferred).

As a team member within the Communications, Marketing, Publications and Preferred Partner department, the Assistant Director, Marketing must be able to:

  • Operate in high pressure environment and successfully handle multiple priorities.
  • Possess troubleshooting skills.
  • Be professional and work as part of a team and individually.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role that involves:

  • Sitting: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Keyboarding: Frequent use of a computer keyboard for typing.
  • Visual Acuity: Close visual acuity for viewing a computer screen and reading documents.
  • Reaching: Occasionally reaching for items such as files or office supplies.
  • Lifting: Occasionally lifting light objects, usually up to 10-20 pounds.
  • Walking: Short distances within the office to attend meetings or retrieve documents.
  • Repetitive Motion: Frequent repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers
