Nacha Wants Your Help in Compiling the 2025 ACH Volume Survey
The holidays are behind us, but there’s one more thing to do before officially bidding farewell to 2025. Nacha needs your financial institution’s help in compiling the ACH Volume Survey.
The survey is important in helping Nacha get a better understanding of your bank or credit union’s ACH usage. It also helps us make an accurate assessment of ACH Network volume.
That’s why we’re asking you to watch for an email from Nacha Network Rules ([email protected]) with the subject line “Action Required: Submit 2025 ACH Volume Survey by Jan. 30.” The email should hit your inbox on or after Jan. 7.
The first thing we’d like you to do is reply to it with a confirmation that you received it and that you’re the right person to handle it. If someone else at your organization should take care of it, please forward that email to them, and reply to Nacha with their contact information.
The email contains an Excel sheet to download where you can fill in the blanks for ACH originated, received, on-us, and direct send/on-we volume, as well as originated Same Day ACH volume. Note that Nacha won’t publish on-us and direct send volumes, but they’re essential for industrywide estimates.
Once you’ve completed the form, simply return it to [email protected]. You may also email any questions there. Nacha must receive all responses by Jan. 30, 2026.
The ACH Volume Survey will be used in compiling the 2025 Top 50 rankings of financial institution originators and receivers of ACH payments. The Top 50 list is a key industry benchmark and carries some impressive stats. On the 2024 list, the Top 50 originators were responsible for 29.7 billion ACH payments and accounted for 93.8% of the ACH Network’s total commercial payments volume. Receivers on the list had almost 22 billion ACH payments and accounted for 65.5% of total volume on the ACH Network, which includes payments received from the federal government.
