A decade-long increase in medical and dental professionals receiving claim payments by EFT continued in 2023.

When Nacha says the modern ACH Network is thriving, we always have figures to back that up. The Federal Reserve recently gave us some additional evidence of just how accurate that statement is. 

Nacha announced its 2023 Pay-Me Award Honorees during the Payments Connection Ceremony at its annual Smarter Faster Payments Conference. These movie-themed awards recognize some of the innovative solution providers that help keep the payments industry fast and secure. 

The ACH Network began 2023 with solid growth in the first quarter, particularly in Same Day ACH where payment dollar values nearly doubled from a year earlier.

The modern ACH Network safely and efficiently processed 30 billion payments valued at $76.7 trillion in 2022, increases of 3% and 5.6% respectively over 2021.

The ACH Network continued growing in the final quarter of 2022. Payment volume totaled 7.6 billion, up 2.3% from the fourth quarter of 2021. The value of those payments, $19.4 trillion, is a 3% rise.

Another milestone for Same Day ACH as it notches its 2 billionth payment.

Steady growth continued for the ACH Network in the third quarter of 2022, with 7.6 billion payments processed valued at $19.2 trillion. Those are increases of 4.2% and 6%, respectively, from a year earlier.

The ACH Network experienced overall growth in the first quarter of 2022, even as recent forms of pandemic-related government assistance have ended.

The latest enhancement to Same Day ACH is here. The per payment limit is now $1 million.

ACH Network volume grew 8.7% in 2021 with 29.1 billion payments. The value of those payments rose 17.4%, or $10.8 trillion.

With business-to-business (B2B) showing particularly strong growth, and healthcare claim payments setting a record, the modern ACH Network recorded a 7.7% increase in payment volume during the third quarter of 2021.
