Assistant Director, ACH Analytics
The Assistant Director, ACH Analytics will have the two major responsibilities:
- Analysis of weekly ACH return data files from both ACH Operators to identify cases of elevated return rates, and determine whether to engage Nacha’s ODFI Alert Service (OAS) or more formally, the rules-based ODFI Return Rate Reporting (ORR) enforcement mechanism; and,
- Compilation and analysis of monthly ACH volume reports, semi-annual ACH data samples, and the annual ACH volume survey of financial institutions.
Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities
- ACH Risk Investigations
- Ensure receipt, loading, and ingestion of ACH Operator files in Nacha’s Risk Analysis Service database (RAS)
- Once RAS processes all weekly files, review alerts in RAS for proper disposition
- Create recommendations for informal financial institution communications based on alerts generated by RAS for the Associate Managing Director, Risk Investigations
- Create recommendations for formal financial institution communications based on alerts generated by RAS for the Associate Managing Director, Risk Investigations
- Once financial institution cases have been determined, administer case management process.
- Keep track of cases in case management process according to due dates, close cases as applicable, forward cases to Compliance Department as applicable
- Support Nacha’s Risk Management Portal as part of the team handling customer inquiries.
- ACH Network Responsibilities
- Volume reporting (Monthly, quarterly and annual ACH and Same Day ACH volume and dollars by Standard Entry Class (SEC) Code, Healthcare reporting, Return volume).
- Review of data reports for accuracy for staff use and Nacha website.
- Analyze and monitor for trends.
- Semi-annual ACH Operator data samples.
- Ensure delivery of, and loading of, semi-annual data samples.
- Compile and analyze selected data points and compare previous samples via database (TBD).
- Annual ACH Volume Survey.
- Review collected data for accuracy compared to previous year’s activity, tabulate, and analyze results.
- Create reports – Top 50 Originator and Receiver lists, Members’ volumes, On-us volumes.
- Analysis of key industry reports.
- Monitor for the release of industry reports that may be relevant to Nacha, share the analysis with relevant staff.
- Respond to internal and external data requests.
- Volume reporting (Monthly, quarterly and annual ACH and Same Day ACH volume and dollars by Standard Entry Class (SEC) Code, Healthcare reporting, Return volume).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) preferred (with prior ACH knowledge considered).
- Knowledge of SQL, PowerBI and Sertics strongly preferred.

Required Background / Minimum Qualifications
College degree in business, data science or equivalent work experience in the association, financial services, or technology industry, with demonstrated content, program, or project management skills.
Minimum of two years’ experience in data analysis. Supervisory Responsibilities
None at this time.

Travel
This is a remote-first position and travel to the Nacha offices in Reston, VA will be required three times a year. Occasional business travel may be required.
