Starting today the Same Day ACH per payment dollar limit jumps from $25,000 to $100,000.

The wait is almost over. This Friday, the latest enhancement to Same Day ACH takes effect.

The ACH Network had an impressive 2019, with 24.7 billion payments valued at $55.8 trillion. The annual growth rate reached a 12-year high.

The Same Day ACH higher dollar limit is coming in March. But now is the time for ODFI's to be talking to their customers.

The March 19, 2021 effective date for the new Same Day ACH processing window is confirmed.  

With a higher dollar limit coming to Same Day ACH, there's a lot for Originators to consider, including an anticipated jump in using Same Day for B2B.

As the steward of the ACH Network, Nacha applauds the Federal Reserve Board of Governors’ approval today of the extension of the National Settlement Service operating hours, which is necessary for the expansion of Same Day ACH. With the issuance of the notice today by the Board of Governors, Nacha confirms that the effective date of the expansion of Same Day ACH is March 19, 2021. Same Day ACH is a faster payment option that reaches all U.S. banks and credit unions.

The modern ACH Network had a most impressive third quarter. Nacha President and CEO Jane Larimer takes a closer look at how the ACH Network is thriving.

ACH Network payment volume and Same Day ACH payment volume both soared in the third quarter of 2019. The 6.2 billion ACH payments in the third quarter is an increase of 9.5% from a year earlier. There were 3.6 billion debit transactions and 2.6 billion credits. Those payments were valued at $14.1 trillion, which is nearly 11% more than the third quarter of 2018. 

As a general rule, faster is better. After all, who doesn’t like less traffic, or a plane that lands early? By the same token, who wouldn’t want to get their money quicker? That’s why there’s a lot to like about the new rule making ACH credits available in bank accounts sooner.
