A study commissioned by Nacha found the sizable majority of the nation’s younger millennials are paid by Direct Deposit but revealed a stark contrast between W2 employees and gig workers. Based on the research, Nacha has launched a campaign to educate younger millennial gig workers on the value of Direct Deposit. The campaign page can be found at DirectDeposit.org/GigWorkers.

Steady growth continued for the ACH Network in the third quarter of 2022, with 7.6 billion payments processed valued at $19.2 trillion. Those are increases of 4.2% and 6%, respectively, from a year earlier.

Direct Deposit continues to be the overwhelming choice for Americans to receive their wages. In its 2022 “Getting Paid in America” survey, the American Payroll Association (APA) found that more than 93% of those questioned use Direct Deposit.
