The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) mandated the identification of a healthcare EFT standard, Nacha’s CCD+ Addenda, as a HIPAA transaction. Since it went into effect in January 2014, health plans are now required to deliver the healthcare EFT standard to providers upon request. Healthcare Payments and Remittance Processing - Request for Comment (RFC) – Responses Due by Friday, April 27, 2012

Nacha requests comments on potential amendments to the Nacha Operating Rules to address specific enhancements requested by the healthcare industry to improve the delivery of remittance information contained in healthcare claim payments transmitted via the ACH Network.  The specific enhancements requested by the Council on Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange (CORE) are included in Section 4.4 of the CAQH CORE EFT & ERA Reassociation (CCD+/835) Rule.  Comments are due by Friday, April 27, 2012 at 5:00 pm Eastern Time.
